Autumn Days in Berlin!

berlin3The parks in the city are colorful right now. All Pics by Franzi.

I am on the road again. The last few days I spent I Berlin on a conference and with friends and family. It was a bit stressful (due to job issues) but I loved the colorful city in all its autumn brilliance! The next days I will be in Hamburg and – of course – in Frankfurt. It’s book fair week :)!

I wish you a wonderful start into the fresh week – have a colorful one :)!

Ankle-fray Jeans in Autumn?

Ooookay, question: All those stylish women out there – isn’t it a bit chilly to wear ankle-fray jeans with those down-rising temperatures right now? …Anyway, I have to admit it really looks pretty cool ;). Example

Colorful Autumn Days in Hamburg!

HH2All pics by Franzi.

I spent this Hamburg weekend with some friends from Osnabrück and their little son. I went into a musical preview (quite ok, but not a must-see), enjoyed the autumn colors on long walks and discovered a bit of Altona’s history. Alltogether, a perfect autumn weekend!

I wish you a wonderful start into the fresh week – enjoy the colors!

HH3Don’t worry: We didn’t eat the mushrooms ;)!

HH5A certain mister bought me an anchor button from a button machine!

HH6Sunday we made a walk in Altona (described in this book I am currently reading in my literature club) with a short break at Eier Carl.

Hello Autumn!

Fall copyPic by Franzi.

The last days in Hamburg felt pretty much like autumn: Yellow leaves, spicy air and raindrops on the windows. Now I am the first day in Vienna – I even have a cheap ticket for the Wiener Staatsballett tonight! I guess this will make myself enjoy autumn even more!

I wish you a wonderful weekend – enjoy the autumn air :)!

Autumn = Bordeaux!

Bordeaux is the color of autumn for me. It blends wonderful with dark greens and shades of rosé. So, every year when the leaves turn colorful, I inspect my wardrobe for bordeaux colored items. What about you? What’s your favorite color this season?

Bootsfahrt auf der Elbe mit fantastischem Sonnenuntergang. (Hamburg, Landungsbrücken, 4. September 2018)

The Hygge Holiday by Rosie Blake!

Pic by Franzi.

Merry X-Mas everyone :)! Those days are stuffed with visits of family and friends, big and small dinners and a lot of fun. In case you still have some time for a holiday read – here is this year’s favorite of mine: The Hygge Holiday by Rosie Blake.

A Danish girl, Clara Kristensen, arrives in autumn in Yulethorpe and everyone is gloomy. It’s cold, drizzly and the skies are grey. The last shop on the high street – an adorable little toy shop – is just shutting its doors. Clara rolls up her sleeves and sets to work. Things are looking up until Joe, the son of the owner, comes to Yulethorpe. Joe is very busy with his job in London. Can a man who answers emails at 3 a. m. learn to appreciate the slower, happier, hygge things in life – naps, candles, good friends and maybe even falling in love?

This book is not only heartwarming, but also funny and insightful: A little more hygge is welcome everywhere, isn’t it?

Have a wonderful (X-Mas) week!

A Nice Fall Stroll (With New Boots)!

I love those beautiful fall colors! All pics by Franzi.

Last weekend I stayed in my mom’s house and made a wonderful stroll through the autumnal streets. I wore my new boots and enjoyed the fall air, the fall sun and the colorful leaves. This is really my favorite season :). What is yours?

Have a colorful start into the fresh fall week!

New boots for walking :).

The sound of stepping on dry leaves… there’s nothing better.

Apple Jelly!

apple-jelly-2Pic by Franzi.

Nothing feels more like autumn and is as easy as cooking apple jelly with cinnamon. And the big plus: You will preserve this cozy autumnal feeling and think about preparing the jelly on every winter breakfast. It also works as little X-Mas surprise :).

Recipe: Makes 11 glasses with 125 ml jelly.

Ingredients:

800 ml apple juice (from your own apples or bought), cinnamon sticks (I used one-third of a stick per glass), a knife point gingerbread spice, 450 g sugar, 1 package gelling powder. Moreover: 11 twist-off glasses.

Preparation:

Sterilize your glasses by filling them for at least two minutes with boiling water. Dry the (cooled-down) glasses and add in every glass a piece of cinnamon stick.  In a big pot, combine apple juice, sugar, gelling powder and gingerbread spices. Cook gently for four minutes. Immediately pour into the glasses. Close the lid, turn the glasses around and let cool down for 5 minutes. Then turn around again and let cool down completely.

Enjoy!

Another look of the week – a handmade summer dress combined with a warm wooly sweater and a cuddly scarf. For a slight feeling of summer during wet and grey autumn days :).

Dress: DIY (alternative).

Sweater: H&M old collection (new alternative).

Scarf: Heirloom (new alternative).

Have a beautiful day!
