I am in love … with Soppy – the illustrations of a very sweet couple and their even sweeter relationship by Philippa Rice. Okay, to be honest I am also a bit jealous because these two cartoon figures seem to have found their perfect match. Plus I read that the stories are based on the real-life relationship of Philippa Rice and her partner (okay, the jealousy gets bigger now). The incredibly charming illustrations show typical situations in a couple’s life: The my bed-side/your bed-side situation? I was there (He even holds a mobile in his hand. I was there!)! The joining the sleeping partner on the sofa situation? I was there! The pizza situation? Yeah, that’s me! Oh, all these sweet moments… we should appreciate them more while they are happening!
