The photo series Swedish Dads by Johan Bävman shows young Swedish dads and their different ways to cope with parenting on paternity-leave: They not only take care of their children, but they also develop their very own daily routines. I love the craziness in most of the pictures – they simply document the every-day chaos and the different ways to master it. But there is also a heartwarming tenderness between the dads and the small ones. Some of the men really look exhausted, but still somehow happy. These photos not only are representing Sweden’s comparatively generous paternity-leave legislation and its beautiful consequences, but also that the bond between parents and their kids is unbreakable – no matter if we are speaking about a mum or a dad.
