A Garden Wedding!

The beautiful wedding cake – with the names of the bride, the groom & their little daughter! All pics by Franzi.

Now we are definitely in the midst of this year’s wedding season! On Saturday Stephan and me were in Hesse at the beautiful garden wedding of his second cousin Simone and her groom Olli. It was such a wonderful feast with lots of inspirational ideas. Here are some impressions…

I wish you a wonderful fresh week! Have a lovely one!

I loved the table decoration: Collectors cups and saucers & wild flowers.

A candy bar!!!

In the night they lit a fire – and smoked salmon, which was later served as midnight dinner!

A Wedding in a Blacksmith’s Store!

we6The view from our hotel room. All pics by Franzi.

I spent the weekend in the Ruhr district – an area in Germany that’s characterized by its industrial atmosphere. The reason we went there was a wedding! The fun thing was that the ceremony was performed in a blacksmith’s store. The dark store was illuminated with 300 candles and the newly wed had to hammer a chain as a symbol for their connection! It was a wonderful idea and a great party afterwards!

I wish you a wonderful start into the fresh week. Have a creative one!

A Song For Tuesday: Amsterdam by Axel Fischer!

It’s a kind of tradition on My so-called Luck that I present one Aprés Ski song after my winter vacations :)! And now imagine to listen to Amsterdam by Axel Fischer on top of the snowy mountains! I had the song in my head for at least two whole days.

Have fun listening!

Party Dresses!

Party DressesIIIIIIIVVVI

What shall I wear on Marie’s wedding party next Saturday? Weddings are always difficult: Something white is out of the question. WIll it be hot? Will it be rainy? Has the dress to be long or is short okay? What will the other guests wear? I am deciding for a short, floral printed dress.

What would you wear?

Halloween…. Boo!

This Thursday we will celebrate a feast, some of my pals refer to as the best day of the year… They start shopping the first party utensils for the big night in early August and can’t await to wear their costumes. Halloween! Personally, what I like most about Halloween is that I have such enthusiastic friends who host a good party and infect the rest of us with their ‘Happy Halloween’ mood. Three of us will wear long colored wigs and the food that will be served is orange this year. Plus there will be karaoke. … Sounds like a pretty good night, don’t you agree? Here are some more Halloween ideas!

I wish you a spooky week (in a positive way 😉 )!

Upper Row: Pumpkin garland, polka-dot pumpkinDIY white chocolate spiderwebs.
Lower Row: Pumpkin decorated with leaves, Halloween Make-Up, Giraffe Costume.

Gemma Correll made me laugh again:

Twinkle twinkle little star…

Only five more days and then you must have your New Year’s Eve party outfit ready! Usually I don’t like too flashy outfits, but New Year’s Eve is clearly an exeption. This is the night one is allowed to twinkle more than all the stars on the night sky (and to be honest, with all the fireworks who will see them anyway?)! Here are some very sparkling pieces I found that would be the perfect addition for every New Year’s Eve wardrobe…

February Favs

It’s just mid-February and I already discovered so many incredible things I want to share with you. It was a tough decision what to show you and I ended up by presenting you (nearly) everything. And now I pardon myself – I have to go and make Party Popcorn

Have a fun start in your week. Any special plans?

Shopping and DIY inspirations:

I A Hogwarts leather luggage tag via etsy, II DIY: Sew mittens from an old sweater via A Beautiful Mess , III Rock Paper Scissor necklace via etsy, IV Recipe: Colourful Party Popcorn with white chocolate via She Wears Many Hats.

Wow, how much I envy…

…the closet from stylist Mary Alice Stephenson (via the COVETEUR),

…this book-loaded living room (I’m not sure, but I think it belongs to Karl Lagerfeld (?). Via The Selby.),

…and this party buffet, which includes truffles, chocolate dipped potato chips, cupcakes and an Oreo tower(!!!) (via A Beautiful Mess).

 Look:

When I see the colourful looks of textile artist and craft teacher Shan Shan from Tokyo, I start to actual believe that spring will arrive soon and that the time will come, where I dare to step outside again without at least 3 layers of clothes. 1,2

Cute (and true) prints:

…Exactly (by Wit and Delight via A Cup of Jo).

…True (via etsy).

Listen:

Ladyhawke ‘Black White & Blue’ by Tabitha Denholm from Partizan on Vimeo.

…There are times all I really need is to dance through my living room like a lunatic and everything is fine again!

Watch:

Why men and women can’t be friends… hilarious and something to think about.

Bye 2011…

It was an extraordinary year full of surprises, small and big adventures as well as new and old aquaintances. Some people were gone, some new are found. In the end, I think it was a good one, but I’m still hoping the fresh year will be even better!

I’m looking forward to 2012 and wish you all a nice party tonight. Have fun with your friends and everyone you want to spent this big time with! See you next year!

XOXO
