Frankfurt Book Fair 2017! #FBM17 #FraFra2017

This year’s guest of honor: France! All pics by Franzi.

I am just back from Frankfurt where I visited once more the Frankfurt book fair. This year’s guest of honor was France and it was wonderful to hear people talking French everywhere. Of course, there were also lots and lots of books and inspiring authors I wanna share with you the next weeks. Today I would like to show you some impressions of the fair and its atmosphere, in case you are interested :):

I wish you a wonderful start into the new week – enjoy the sunny fall days and take some time reading good books!

With France as guest of honor at a book fair, there has to be an Asterix!

A wall of books!

The light-flooded French pavilion!

Cookbooks!

The creative business festival THE ARTS+ took also place on the book fair.

The inventive Hendricks gin booth (yeah, there was some booze offered at the fair ;)).

There was also an impressive antique book fair included.

The main stage in the French pavilion.

A view on Frankfurt and the fairground.

Late-Summer / Early-Fall Vacation 2017: At the Darss!

A small artwork I found at the “Weststrand” (west beach) near Ahrenshoop. All pics by Franzi.

It’s already one long week ago since we came back from our vacation at the Bay of Barth at the Darss. It was such a relaxing time: With lots of books, ice-cream, delicious meals, day trips – and even a bath in the (cold) Baltic Sea. Here are some impressions of those two fantastic weeks for you.

I wish you a wonderful new week! Have a wonderful time :)!

We made two hiking trips near Barth:

At Barth’s harbor we observed stunning sunsets:

Both of us adore the “Weststrand” (west beach) between Ahrenshoop and Prerow:

We also made a day trip to the city Greifswald, which we both really liked:

The old harbor in Greifswald.

The old wooden bridge in Wieck.

The stunning ruins of the monastery Eldena – famous because artist Casper David Friedrich painted them.

The Bay of Greifswald.

Autumn Days in Berlin!

berlin3The parks in the city are colorful right now. All Pics by Franzi.

I am on the road again. The last few days I spent I Berlin on a conference and with friends and family. It was a bit stressful (due to job issues) but I loved the colorful city in all its autumn brilliance! The next days I will be in Hamburg and – of course – in Frankfurt. It’s book fair week :)!

I wish you a wonderful start into the fresh week – have a colorful one :)!

re:publica #rpTEN: Day III in Pictures!

rp1The good-by session! All pics by Franzi.

Wednesday was the last day of the #rpTEN. Everything was more relaxed than the two days before. I attended a binge-creating workshop and some re:health sessions – with a focus on health and health apps. At the end, the closing ceremony made me laugh, sing and a bit sad that everything was over again for this year.

Have a wonderful weekend! Have an inspiring one!

rp3My first try in binge-creating: A chick on stilts meets a Star Wars character – that should be Darth Vader :).

rp2Another side of the story: Kati Krause talked about social media and depression. Brave and eye-opening!

IMG_1667On our way to Austria! All pics by Franzi.

I am back from my winter vacations since a week now. Those few days in the mountains each year feel always incredible refreshing – the light, the air and the activity. Here are some impressions of our winter vacations in Saalbach-Hinterklemm.

I wish you a wonderful start into the fresh week. Have a relaxing one!

A Lazy Hamburg Weekend!

we2All pics by Franzi.

This last weekend looked different to what I planned – instead of visiting once again friends and family in Berlin I stayed in Hamburg to cure this heavy cold of mine. I slept a lot, shopped healthy food at the farmers market, had a wonderful breakfast with my pal Annika at the Marktzeit, was happy to have my umbrella with me and enjoyed my latest audio book. Now I am feeling a lot better – thumps up that it will stay like this.

I wish you a wonderful start into the fresh week – stay healthy :)!

A Hamburg Weekend!

HH 4All pics by Franzi.

Another lazy late summer-weekend! This time at home in Hamburg. It started with feeling sick, lying in bed reading, went on with shopping at the farmers market, cooking (got to know the smoke alarm in my flat) and meeting good-old friends. All in all a perfect one!

I wish you a wonderful start into the next lazy late-summer week :)!

Oxford!

OxfordI’m back in Germany since Saturday night. – My Oxford visit is nearly one week ago. Unbelievable! But I had a great time there, meeting up with a bunch of friends, visiting old colleges, sitting in gigantic book shops, drinking tea and ale and eating fish and chips! We even had some rays of sunshine to enjoy (But don’t get confused – it was freezing cold!) and just a good time in this Harry Potter-like town. Here are a few impressions from Oxford…

I hope you enjoy the pics and then I wish you all a weekend full of new stories!SAM_2928 SAM_2866 SAM_2843 SAM_2830 SAM_2823 SAM_2822 SAM_2815 SAM_2814 SAM_2796All pics by Franzi.
