What Are You Looking Forward To This Summer?

Pic by Franzi.

I asked my pals: “What are you looking forward to this summer?” Surprisingly, their answers turned out quite variable – from gardening, hiking tours, mild nights or going to festivals. What would I answer? Spending time with those wonderful people, of course (and enjoying the brightness of warm lazy summer days). Here are all the inspirational answers I got (this time I also wrote their original German answers as well)…

Events & Actions:

Stephan: “I am looking forward to the summer vacations and all those upcoming concerts.” // “Auf den Sommerurlaub und die ganzen Konzerte.”

Markus: “Open Airs.” // “Open Airs.”

Claudi (my mum): “I am looking forward to the brightness of the days (because one gets more things done), to wearing summer dresses and to ride the bicycle.”

Dania: “I am looking forward to Jacobs and Sevs wedding in France amd the accompanying vacations.”// “Auf Jacobs and Sevs Hochzeit und den das Ereignis begleitenden Urlaub.”

Gerald (my dad): “I am looking forward to a reunion and to nice weather. And that hopefully all that I will build or repair will work out in the end.”

Sophie (pregnant): “Mostly I am looking forward to put on my shoes by myself again.”

Jessica (just started a new job): “I am looking forward to finally wear skirts at work. There is no aircon anymore, that will hinder me doing it.”

Meline (student): “Since for me summer means that I have no exams or lectures, I am mostly looking forward to the free time during which I can do spontaneous things with my pals and my boyfriend.”

Two Days Back in Berlin!

The Müggelsee. Pics by Franzi.

The last two days I spent in Berlin with dear friends, my god-son and his siblings. It’s always wonderful to be back in the city of my own childhood. Looking at the Müggelsee reminds me on my own young years. And do you also smell spring already? I saw the first blooms and despite the fact that it’s still grey outside the warmer season is coming closer!

I wish you a wonderful week! Look out for those beautiful early bloomers :)!

Daffodil season!

Two little reasons to always come back to Berlin! (And yes, my godson wears a sock instead of a glove.)

Those Days Between the Years… Quedlinburg/Harz!

A look onto Quedlinburg from the top of the Münzenberg. All pics by Franzi.

Wow, this was my first total blog-free week since five years. I have to admit that I missed it a bit, but then I also finished (two!) books. …Now let’s have a look back to my days between the years 2016 and 2017. Those I celebrated again with a bunch of great people (plus two little guys, who were born in 2016). We rented three apartments in a big, old timber frame building in Quedlinburg/Harz. It was a wonderful time, that was fun and also a bit emotional. A good start into a new year. Here are a few impressions.

P.S. There were three engagements during the last weeks and I am extremely happy about every single one of them: Congrats I & A, C & T and last but not least Little Bro & C!

Have a wonderful start into the fresh week :)! …Have an inspiring one!

Blue sky!

The market square!

I love those old timber frame buildings!

The castle!

Funny street names (Hölle = hell).

Cobblestones everywhere!

We all wrote a wish on a Flying Wish Paper and let it burn (& fly).

The 1st Advent Weekend 2016!

we1A cozy fire-place! All Pics by Franzi.

I am just back from good-old Osnabrück, where I spent the first Advent weekend with friends, a little guy who calls me ‘Bundy’ and a party to celebrate a new installed fire-place. It was a very nice start into the X-Mas season!

I wish you a wonderful start into the fresh week – have a cozy one :)!

A Late-Summer Weekend with Friends!

OS3It’s already harvest time! Pic by Franzi.

I just came back from two days in my old hometown Osnabrück. We celebrated the second birthday of a little friend of mine and maybe I enjoyed the play time with him even more than he himself ;). Moreover, there was a garden party, good talks, cooking and just ‘quality time’. Here are some impressions of those last days.

I wish you a wonderful start into the fresh week – have one full of laughter!

OS2Our main activity was to put horses and donkeys and cows inside the saloon … and then to take them out of it … and again inside … :D.

OS1The garden of my friends looks already like fall has arrived.

A Lazy Hamburg Weekend!

we3Hamburg sky. All pics by Franzi.

This last weekend I stayed in Hamburg – an old friend visited me from Friday till Saturday and we enjoyed our time together, went to an open air concert and walked through the city. In the end, it was one of those rare weekends, where I finally was able to enjoy Hamburg and to calm down a bit :).

I wish you a wonderful start into the fresh week. Have a relaxed one!

we2Friday morning: Flowery Isemarkt!

we4Friday night: Rockabilly music (by the Cash Boys) in the DRAFTHOUSE.

we5Saturday: A stroll at the harbour – with the Queen Mary 2 in the dock.

New Year at the Baltic Sea!

ostsee1All pics by Franzi.

Let’s start into the first whole week of 2016. The last days I spent with friends in Loddin at the Baltic Sea. It was a funny and relaxing time at the water with day trips to Zinnowitz and the Polish town Świnoujście. Here are some impressions :).

I wish you a wonderful start into the fresh week. Have a wonderful time!

New Year’s Resolutions: 2. Have Time For My Dear Ones!

Best-Friend-QuotesPicture Credit.

My second New Year’s resolution: To spend as much time as possible with my dear ones. I know that I am doing the best I can already and it’s not always easy to share my time between all those cities. But as stressful as it sometimes may be, nothing is as relaxing and heartwarming as to be together with friends, my godchild or family. Thus, I will try to be with all those lovely people as often as I can manage.

Have fun with your dear ones … every day!

A Weekend with Friends!

we5All pics by Franzi.

Whoosh! And another weekend is gone. This one I spent with wonderful people in Hamburg, Osnabrück and Münster (and a lot of time in busses and trains). On Friday I went with Eva and her sweet daughter to the autumnal Isemarkt. Later I drove to Inka and Frank in good-old Osnabrück, where I enjoyed playing with their one-year old toddler. Saturday night and Sunday I was in Münster, visiting the new flat of my pal Claudi. All in all, it was a wonderful sociably time!

I wish you a wonderful new week – in great company of your friends and family :)!
