Two Days Back in Berlin!

The Müggelsee. Pics by Franzi.

The last two days I spent in Berlin with dear friends, my god-son and his siblings. It’s always wonderful to be back in the city of my own childhood. Looking at the Müggelsee reminds me on my own young years. And do you also smell spring already? I saw the first blooms and despite the fact that it’s still grey outside the warmer season is coming closer!

I wish you a wonderful week! Look out for those beautiful early bloomers :)!

Daffodil season!

Two little reasons to always come back to Berlin! (And yes, my godson wears a sock instead of a glove.)

Home!

Home. Pic by Franzi.

I am home and safe… The last two days in Berlin were crazy, in a bad way. Hopefully it will be calmer now, so that everyone has the chance to enjoy those last days before X-Mas. There’s no snow, but its freezing: Let’s light a fire and relax.

Have a beautiful day!

Autumn Days in Berlin!

berlin3The parks in the city are colorful right now. All Pics by Franzi.

I am on the road again. The last few days I spent I Berlin on a conference and with friends and family. It was a bit stressful (due to job issues) but I loved the colorful city in all its autumn brilliance! The next days I will be in Hamburg and – of course – in Frankfurt. It’s book fair week :)!

I wish you a wonderful start into the fresh week – have a colorful one :)!

An Audio-Novela: Be My Match!

Be My MatchPic by Franzi (Screen Shot).

The German audio drama series Be My Match tells the story of the way to live and love as a single in Berlin. There’s online dating, the pressure to finish a PhD, shared apartments – and the sound of the big city. The unique feature of this audio experience is that all background sounds are real: The story was not produced in a studio but at the original scenes – in the streets of Berlin or in one its many cafés.

The topic of the drama series is simple: A radio presenter (Jan) is forced by his boss to do an online dating experiment where he only dates girls that doesn’t fit to him at all. That’s how he meets Sophie. In the beginning both can’t stand each other but then thy start to date on a weekly basis nonetheless…

It may be a simple story line but I listened to the first episode and was hooked. There are lots of moments where I am reminded on my (former) self or my palls in Berlin. Hilarious! …And then there’s one more thing that resonates with me: My own online dating experiment resulted actually in a relationship.

I wish you a fun weekend – have an entertaining one :)!

Little Oasis near Berlin: Kleiner Spreewaldpark in Schöneiche.

Last weekend I was in Berlin to visit friends and family. Saturday we strolled through Schöneiche (a village near Berlin where my mum lives) to get some ice-cream and crossed the beautiful Kleiner Spreewaldpark (Little Spreewald Park). It’s a wonderful and mystic oasis. One can actually take a boat to experience it! And there are fantasy figures all around made with a mosaic of tiles that are illustrated with cute pictures of animals and other patterns!

I wish you a wonderful start into the fresh week – have a relaxed one!

A Look at the Sky!

we5Thursday evening in Hamburg (Schanze), part I! All Pics by Franzi.

The last days I was in Hamburg and in Berlin. The weather was either surprisingly hot (37 °C!) or felt like a thunderstorm was just around the next corner. Most impressing were the cloud formations in the sky: Cumulus clouds, right angle (!) clouds, blue sky or bright orange sunsets! Stunning and fascinating :).

I wish you a wonderful start into the fresh week – have a bright one!

re:publica #rpTEN: Day II in Pictures!

rp2Welcome balloons! All pics by Franzi.

Tuesday was more relaxed than Monday at the #rpTEN. I met a few new people and some I already knew. I learned a great deal about Big Data, Generative Design, Instagram and many other things (more about it next Monday). Afterwards I was happy but  – surprise –  also exhausted. Here are some photo impressions.

Have a wonderful Thursday!

Back in Berlin for the re:publica #rpTEN!

we3My daily way of transportation until Wednesday: The S-Bahn. All pics by Franzi.

Yesterday I was back on the road. After a relaxed weekend in Hamburg I am now in Berlin. The reason is easy to guess: It’s re:publica time! I am looking forward to lots of inspiring talks and people and hope that all those ‘cool kids’ won’t make me too shy ;).

I wish you a wonderful start into the fresh week. Stay relaxed and be inspired!

November in Berlin!

B4Friedrichshagen – my home district. All pics by Franzi.

A weekend in Berlin is always tightly scheduled… Friday the PhD defence of my little bro was the main thing to celebrate. Saturday and Sunday I spent again with friends and family spread through the big city. There was sun and snow and fun and cheese cake and potato salad and lasagna! A wonderful time!

I wish you a wonderful start into the fresh week. Have a unique one!
